Slidell motorcycle crash leaves man dead

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A 31-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Slidell over the weekend.

The Slidell Police Department reported the crash happened around 8 p.m. on Sgt. Alfred Drive near Guzman Street on Sunday, May 5.

According to the department, Ryan Smith was heading south on Sgt. Alfred Drive on a 2009 Kawasaki ZX-6R motorcycle when the crash happened.

Police haven’t determined why, but Smith’s motorcycle ran off the road to the right and hit several objects. He was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a parked vehicle.

He died at the scene. The crash is being investigated.
