How Shraddha Kapoor transformed from a Star Kid to a Superstar

Shraddha Kapoor’s blink-and-you-miss-it role in her debut film Teen Patti failed to impress audiences. Her second film Luv Ka The End focused completely on her character and yet it did not churn big box office numbers. Shakti Kapoor’s daughter fought to make her mark in Bollywood and she finally returned home through her role in Aashiqui 2. Then came the back-to-back hit films Haider and ABCD 2. There’s simply no looking back for the beautiful actress—three of her films Baaghi, Rock On 2 and OK Janu are all slated to release at the end of 2016 and at the beginning of 2017. We tried to understand her transformation from a newbie to being one of the most sought after actresses in Bollywood today.

1. Uses her skills for roles: Shraddha is a trained and certified scuba diver. She got a chance to show off her scuba-diving skills in an underwater sequence in the film Ek Villain.

2. Eager to learn: Shraddha doesn’t shy away from difficult and demanding sequences. She was only too happy when director Mohit Suri asked her to learn to ride a motorbike for the film Ek Villain. She even replied with a prompt ‘Yes’! Many falls and injuries later—there she is, seen riding the motorbike in the film. Reportedly, Shraddha picked up martial arts for her upcoming film Baaghi and will be seen performing fantastic stunts opposite the action hero Tiger Shroff!

3. 20 dance forms for one film: Leave no stone unturned! That seems to be Shraddha’s approach to each of her roles! For her film ABCD 2, she trained intensively and learnt 20 different dance forms with the help of the choreographer-director Remo D'Souza. From krumping to kathak, popping to lyrical hip-hop—Shraddha did them all.

4. The girl even sings: Shraddha is actually a trained classical singer! Have you heard the unplugged version of Teri Galiyan in Ek Villain? Yup! That’s her. She even sang Sab Tera in Baaghi and all the songs in her upcoming film Rock On 2.

5. A style diva: At the beginning, sporting her simple casuals, she may have been no match to A-listers and fashionistas such as Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan. But this young actress is slowly carving her own niche in the world of fashion and inspiring several young girls with her unique style statements!
