Shooting near 29 and North Avenue

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting near 29 Road and North Avenue on Wednesday.

Two people were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A suspect was detained and is currently being questioned. There is no danger to the public.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.

UPDATE: The two people taken to the hospital were declared deceased upon arrival. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will release any information related to the deceased at their discretion once the families have been notified.
