Shoe store opening two new Baton Rouge locations with Louisiana sports, music stars
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A global retail store is hosting its grand opening for its two Baton Rouge locations on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20. The Athlete’s Foot will open one near the campus of LSU and the other on Florida Boulevard.
The LSU campus location will be at 3332 Highland Road and opens at 5 p.m. Friday, April 19. LSU women’s basketball star Flau’jae Johnson will be a special guest during the opening. Johnson is a brand ambassador for the Athlete’s Foot and will offer a meet-and-greet for her fans until 8 p.m.
“We are beyond excited to welcome Flau’jae Johnson into The Athlete’s Foot family,” Darius Billings, vice president of marketing and community engagement at The Athlete’s Foot, said in a news release. “Flau’jae’s story is one of perseverance, talent, and inspiration. She perfectly embodies the values and spirit of TAF, making her an ideal Brand Ambassador for our community.”

The second location, 4373 Florida Boulevard, opens at noon Saturday, April 20. Hip-hop recording artist OBN Jay will be the special guest. OBN Jay will sign autographs until 4 p.m.
Both openings will feature live music from Baton Rouge entertainer DJ Bootsie, along with giveaways, pop-a-shot contests, NBA 2K tournaments and light refreshments.
The Athlete’s Foot is a retail store that sells sneakers, clothes, and accessories from favorite brands including Nike, Jordan, Adidas, New Balance and The North Face. The chain already has four locations in Louisiana, three in New Orleans and one in Kenner.
