Sheriff verifies 54 registered sex offenders living in Summit County

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Fifty-four registered sex offenders living in Summit County were verified by the sheriff’s office Friday.

Sex offender address verifications, or unannounced checks, were performed Friday by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the Adult Parole Authority.

Of the 54 offenders checked, six were found to be out of compliance with their registration requirements. A warrant for failure to register change of address will be issued for their arrest, according to the release.

Guardians game postponed; doubleheader Saturday

Verifications were conducted in numerous communities including Northfield, Center Township, Sagamore Hills, Macedonia, Twinsburg, Hudson, Stow, Tallmadge, Mogadore, Springfield Township, Akron and Green.
