Sheriff: 18-year-old in Wisconsin dies after train versus car crash, under investigation

ALMA, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in western Wisconsin are investigating a train versus car crash that left an 18-year-old dead.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, on May 21 around 5:22 p.m., a report came in of a train versus passenger car in the Township of Alma. Officials say that it was determined at the scene that the vehicle did not yield to the oncoming train.

The driver was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified the driver as 18-year-old Roman Fronk of Black River Falls.

The case is still under investigation. Multiple agencies assisted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in this incident.
