Shawn Mendes Gets a Glittery Makeover Backstage With Taylor Swift

When you’re hanging out with Taylor Swift, it’s natural to want to glam things up a bit. After all, she is in the midst of a massively successful tour, and you never know which celebs are going to show up in the crowd. (Tay’s pals Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, and Blake Lively have all been spotted since the Reputation tour kickoff, just FYI.)

Shawn Mendes was ready for his closeup while hanging out with Taylor yesterday, August 3, as fans saw when Tay posted a video of Shawn getting the Swift beauty treatment on her Instagram Stories.

“This is pretty much the exact same show look [we do,]” Tay narrates in the clip. In the 'gram, we can see Shawn sitting in a makeup chair, wearing a white shirt and black baseball cap while he gets a quick sparkly touchup. “Shawn’s back and he’s glittery,” Taylor writes in the caption.

“This is perfect. This is all I wanted, ever,” Shawn says as a makeup artist dusts his eyelids with bright white glitter. As Taylor would say (or sing?), “You’re so gorgeous!”

Shawn and Tay have taken the stage together before; he was her special guest on tour back in May, and the two sang his song “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back” together. Shawn has also opened for Taylor in the past, so it’s pretty clear the two are good friends at this point.

Is Shawn going to perform with Tay at her August 4 show in Toronto? That is his hometown, so it possible that he’ll join her onstage at some point — glittery makeover and all.
