Sharon Osbourne has responded to comments made by Amanda Holden in which she appeared to call Osbourne's behaviour "bitter and pathetic", with Osbourne retorting that Holden will "never be in my league".

Britain's Got Talent judge Holden made the comments during an interview with The Daily Mail's Weekend Magazine, in which she spoke about the appearance of former X Factor judges Osbourne and Louis Walsh on the recent series of Celebrity Big Brother.

While starring in the reality show, Osbourne shared that there was a rift between her and Simon Cowell following their work on The X Factor together and claimed that she wouldn't work with him again for "all the money in the world".

Speaking about Osbourne and Walsh's comments about Cowell while in the CBB house, Holden, who has worked on BGT with Cowell since its first series, said that she "hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon".

"He's the person who's given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn't have had," she continued. "It's bitter and pathetic. It was like Cinderella with her two sisters in the background - just stabby, stabby, stabby."

She added that she thought the pair looked "so nasty and awful", adding: "Just be gracious. There was none of that and I can't bear it."

Osbourne has since responded to Holden's comments, writing a post on X which is directly addressed to the reality show judge.

In the lengthy post, Osbourne wrote that she respects "the fact that you feel the need to defend your good friend and employer, Simon Cowell", but added that "a couple of your statements regarding myself are factually incorrect".

She went on: "The truth is, you don't know me, Amanda. You know nothing about my history in the music industry, my achievements, the artists I have worked with, the shows that I've produced, and my global celebrity. Unlike you, the brand of Sharon Osbourne is known worldwide.

"There are many countries that I could work in if I choose to however, I don't have the ambition or time to do so, and unlike you, I don't work in radio or pantomime. Our worlds are totally different."

Osbourne went on to claim that "my money and success were not due to doing a couple of Simon Cowell talent shows".

"Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed doing them at the time as they were great fun," she said. "Yes, Simon paid me very well. Probably more than what you're receiving today, but all of that my darling went on a few handbags."

She went on to list her career achievements over the years, telling Holden "I think you're missing the point here".

"No disrespect to Simon Cowell but he NEEDED ME for musical credibility on X Factor and I delivered for him and together all of us made a great team," she said. "It was only after several seasons of X Factor that Simon started to build his music empire and I give him much kudos for what he built."

Osbourne concluded her statement by highlighting the success that she and musician husband Ozzy Osbourne have enjoyed, saying that "we had a fantastic lifestyle before I ever heard of Simon Cowell".

"On closing, I hope I've given you a proper education about me so that the next time you choose to mention me, you'll have some facts in your pocket," she finished. "The bottom line, Amanda, is, that you'll never be in my league, and you've picked on the wrong ugly stepsister."

MailOnline has since reported that Holden has issued a short statement in response to Osbourne's post, in which her spokesperson said: "Amanda is aware of Sharon's incredible career but, just like her, Amanda will always defend those close to her."

Digital Spy contacted representatives for Holden and Osbourne for comment. Osbourne's responded that she had nothing to add. Holden's have yet to respond.
