JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WJW) — The planet’s most well-known (and prophetic) groundhog is now a father.
Wednesday, the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club announced that Punxsutawney Phil and his partner Phyllis have welcomed two new baby groundhogs to their family.
What does Punxsutawney Phil do the rest of the year?
“The babies are currently in with mom and dad at the zoo that is located at the Punxsutawney Memorial Library, and can be viewed through the viewing window,” the club said on its Facebook page.
These two are reportedly the first children for Phil, who has officially been making predictions since 1886, according to the club.
Back in February, dear Phil predicted an early spring from his Gobbler’s Knob perch. Meanwhile Ohio’s weather oracle Buckeye Chuck also predicted an early spring, despite the two groundhogs not always agreeing on their forecasts.
