West River Dr in Plainfield Twp reopens after semi crash

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — West River Drive NE in Plainfield Township reopened following a semi-truck crash Friday morning, the Kent County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 8 a.m., troopers were sent to West River Drive NE near Ball Park Drive NE, near the northbound US-131 on- and off-ramp, for a crash.

Dispatch told News 8 that a semi was on its side after hitting and knocking down powerlines.

The road was closed in the area due to the crash, the sheriff’s office said. It has since reopened.

It’s unclear what led up to the crash or if anyone is hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
