Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis set the NBA record for consecutive double-doubles at Golden 1 Center on Monday, collecting his 54th straight to surpass Kevin Love for the longest single-season streak since the ABA-NBA merger in 1976.

Going into the game, Sabonis was averaging 20.0 points, 13.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists. He was leading the league in rebounding, double-doubles (66) and triple-doubles (24).

“I feel like I have a lot of experience being in this game, and I’ve seen some things at the highest level and some of the greatest of the all-time greats,” Brown said after the game. “Tim Duncan, I’ve been fortunate, blessed, lucky, however you want to call it, to be around him for three straight years, and you’re talking about a record even a guy of that magnitude doesn’t have.”

Updated after Monday’s game against Philadelphia to reflect the new record.
