An iconic kiss, to say the least!

After making his directorial debut in 2018's A Star Is Born featuring Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper is currently directing a new movie, Maestro, while also starring in it.

This upcoming biographical film tells the “complex love story” between Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre after meeting in 1964 at a party and being married for 25 years. Leonard is being played by Cooper, whereas Felicia is being played by Carey Mulligan. Also starring in the film are Matt Bomer, Sarah Silverman, Jeremy Strong, and Maya Hawke.

This week, photos of Cooper and Bomer’s characters sharing a kiss went viral while they filmed Maestro in the cities of New York City.

For context, Leonard is considered one of the most important music conductors of all time, being best known for his work in the Broadway musical West Side Story. In different interviews, Leonard’s peers and close friends have described him as a “gay man who got married. He wasn’t conflicted about it at all. He was just gay.”

From the looks of it, it seems like Bomer will play Cooper’s love interest in the movie despite Leonard’s long-standing marriage to Felicia. Alas, an official name for Bomer’s character has yet to be revealed.

Maestro is scheduled to be released by Netflix in 2023.
