Security video appears to show North Myrtle Beach murder suspect in resort’s parking garage

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A newly released security video appears to show the suspect in a North Myrtle Beach murder investigation loading a heavy object into the back of an SUV in a parking garage and then driving away from the Club Wyndham resort.

The more-than-six-minute-long video released Friday by the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office after a Freedom of Information Act request is time-stamped at about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 24., less than 24 hours after North Myrtle Beach police said Kristin Laymon, 53, of Georgia, was last seen alive entering an elevator at the resort.

Bornold Eberhart, also of Georgia, is facing a murder charge in Laymon’s death. He has been held without bond at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center since being transferred to the Horry County jail on March 8 from Dekalb County, Georgia. He was arrested after authorities obtained a warrant on March 3.

The local investigation began on Nov. 8 when North Myrtle Beach police were contacted by police in Duluth, Georgia, who said Laymon had not been heard from since Sept. 22. Duluth police said her last known location was at Club Wyndham.

North Myrtle Beach detectives later said Laymon came to the city on Sept. 22 and was with Eberhart. Investigators also said that Laymon and Eberhart got into an argument in the early morning of Sept. 23.

Authorities have alleged that Eberhart killed Laymon at the hotel and then loaded her body into a rented vehicle and returned to Georgia. Laymon’s daughter, who reported her missing on Oct. 8, said the vehicle was returned in College Park, Georgia, sometime after 10 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Laymon’s body was found in Dekalb County, Georgia, on March 9, a day after Eberhart’s arrest in Horry County. News13 has reached out to the Dekalb County Medical Examiner for the results of an autopsy but has not heard back.
