Section of Barnes Road to close for two weeks

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A section of Barnes Road near Marksheffel Road will close on Monday, April 22 and remain closed for two weeks for major utility work.

According to the City of Colorado Springs, Barnes Road will be closed between Antelope Ridge Drive and Marksheffel Road, from April 22 – May 6. Drivers will not be able to access Marksheffel from Barnes, and a detour will be in place. Travelers should plan an alternate route and account for extra travel time.

The closure is weather dependent, and the City said message boards will be set up along the closure route with the latest schedule information. Access to area businesses will be open via Antelope Ridge Drive.
