Eric Wilkerson, 41, is charged with aggravated assault. Police say he allegedly exited a vehicle parked beside the victim and began firing shots at Harold Harris, who was taken into custody last week.

Harris, 52, was reportedly just walking down the street at the time of the shooting.

According to court documents, after Wilkerson shot at Harris, Harris shot back, striking Goodrich. Wilkerson allegedly left the scene after Harris shot back.

Eric Wilkerson is due in court Wednesday. Harold Harris is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and reckless homicide; he is set to be back in court April 2.

Goodrich, better known as Coach Skeet, worked for Green Dot for over seven years, Bluff City High School for two years, and Hillcrest High School. He also volunteered as a coach at Bellevue Middle School.

Bluff City High School released a statement following the death of their beloved coach.

“He will be remembered for the work he did with our most vulnerable populations across three campuses, as well as his impact on the students in the after-school programs. He will be sorely missed.”
