Scovill Zoo holding Easter, Opening Day events

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Scovill Zoo in Decatur is opening for the season on Saturday, and it is holding two special Easter events for the day.

First, they will have a Breakfast with the Bunny for zoo members at 8:30 a.m. ahead of opening. The event features continental breakfast food, photos with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt inside the zoo. Tickets for the breakfast cost $6 per person, and must be reserved by calling ahead at 217-421-7435.

The zoo is also hosting Critter Egg Hunts outside of the zoo. The egg hunt is free and open to kids from walking age to 10-years-old. Heats are at 1:40pm, 1:55pm, and 2:10pm. The zoo is also holding an Egg-Stra Special Egg Hunt for individuals of all ages with special needs at 1:20 p.m. No registration is needed.

General admission for the zoo for the day will be lowered to $3. Kids 1 and younger are free. More information can be found on the zoo’s website.
