School bus driver charged with sex crimes against student in Frederick County

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Sheriff’s deputies said that a Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) bus driver faces charges after a student said he touched the student inappropriately.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) said it arrested Robert Lookingbill, 71, of Thurmont, Md. on Friday, April 19 for the incident which was to have taken place.

FCSO said that Frederick County Child Protective Services contacted it on March 28 about a complaint of sexual assault involving a child who was a student on the bus that Lookingbill drove.

Deputies said that the charges against Lookingbill were:

  • Sex Abuse of a Minor

  • Third Degree Sex Offense

  • Fourth Degree Sex Offense

  • 2nd Degree Assault

Frederick County Public Schools placed Lookingbill on administrative leave as soon as it found out about the complaint. As of Friday afternoon, Lookingbill was in the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without bail set.
