Sayre’s Brayden Horton mashed 2 home runs to lead Liberty University past Middle Tennessee State, for a historic Sunday win. Horton’s 2 home run day helped the Flames reach a school record for 8 in a single-game, as a part of the 25-9 win. The 7-inning rout also accounts for Liberty’s 1st series win in Conference USA, in which they joined from the Atlantic Sun this season. In addition to the home runs, Horton went (3-4) with 3 runs, 5 RBI, and a walk. The banner day adds to an impressive weekend, which saw the Northern Tier native hit a grand slam on Friday.

In his sophomore campaign at the NCAA Division I level, Horton is batting .225 with 9 runs, 15 RBI, 5 walks, and 4 home runs, on 9 hits. The Flames return home to host Wake Forest on Tuesday, with first pitch slated for 4 p.m.
