San Jose men suspected of selling narcotics on dark web arrested

(KRON) — Two men accused of selling illegal narcotics on the dark web were arrested following a months-long investigation, the San Jose Police Department announced on Thursday.

The investigation stemmed from a vehicle traffic stop on Nov. 25, 2023, in San Jose. Police performed a probable cause search of the vehicle and uncovered “various amounts” of illegal narcotics, San Jose PD said. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the suspect’s San Jose home, where officers seized multiple firearms, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, opioids and other pharmaceutical drugs for sale.

San Jose PD identified Joshua Jordan, 36, of San Jose, as the primary suspect, and said evidence suggested that Jordan was shipping the narcotics through the United States Postal Service.

A four-month-long investigation ensued involving the San Jose Police Department Gun and Hazardous Offender Suppression Team, Santa Clara County Crime Strategies Unit, Santa Clara County REACT team, USPS Inspector, SJPD Gang Investigations Unit and SJPD Financial Crimes Burglary Unit. Investigators learned that Jordan sold illegal narcotics on the dark web and only accepted cryptocurrency as a form of payment, SJPD said.

Detectives also identified a second suspect, Jonathan Correll Jr., 36, of San Jose, who conspired with Jordan to traffic the narcotics, according to police.

On March 22, Jordan and Correll Jr. were arrested in Santa Clara and San Jose, respectively. Search warrants executed at two San Jose residences located and seized “several hundred grams” of narcotics, including heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, Xanax, Cialis, morphine, psilocybin and ecstasy, SJPD said. A semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine was found, along with two other semi-automatic pistols and ammunition. Approximately $6,000 in cash was also seized.
