Here's what we know:

Market Square shooting in San Antonio

The shooting occurred just after midnight on the last day of San Antonio's Fiesta celebrations. The San Antonio Police Department reported that two officers were patrolling the area near the stage at Conch Alley when they heard gunshots.

Two men had begun shooting at each other in Market Square, according to police. Two officers followed as an 18-year-old suspect attempted to flee, police said. They said the suspect turned to continue firing at the other man, a 20-year-old, and the officers returned fire.

The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The 20-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he also died.

Police Chief William McManus said four bystanders were injured in the shooting.

Two were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The other two were treated at the scene.

McManus said two weapons were found at the scene near the two suspects. The identities of the suspects, as well as what prompted the shooting, have not yet been released.

Fiesta De Los Reyes ends early

After the shooting, Fiesta De Los Reyes announced that the event would end an hour early, closing at 11 p.m. Sunday instead of midnight.

The post received mixed responses, with some saying 11 p.m. was still too late and others demanding more security measures at the event.

A similar incident occurred during last year's Fiesta. Omar Rodriguez, 25 at the time, was shot in the chest near Market Square. Rodriguez spent more than a week in the intensive care unit with a broken rib and blood and air in his chest, according to News4SanAntonio.
