Salinas man shot and killed Friday night on Salinas Street

(BCN) — A man was shot and killed in Salinas on Friday night.

Salinas police said at approximately 11:37 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of shots fired in the 200 block of Salinas Street.

Police found a 46-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

CHP searching for 3 missing and endangered people

Officers and Salinas Fire Department personnel attempted life saving measures on the victim and transported him to a local hospital, where he died.

Police said a witness said they saw an adult male running from the immediate area right after the shots were fired.

Anyone with information regarding the homicide can call Detective Byron Gansen at (831) 801-3549. People can also call the Salinas Police Department anonymous tip line at (831) 775-4222.
