St. Patrick’s Day Parades and Events in Buffalo 2024

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — St. Patrick’s Day is coming up this weekend and people will be marching all across the city to celebrate it. Events will be held for our proud Irish population from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17. See a list of parades and events below.

St. Patrick’s Day Parades

Buffalo

Downtown: Buffalo’s largest parade will take place at 2 p.m. on March 17. Thousands of people are expected to march down Delaware Avenue, starting at Niagara Square and ending on North Street. Marching bands, first responders, and a sea of green will adorn the avenue. Families and people of all ages are encouraged to come and celebrate their heritage.

Old First Ward: The parade at the Old First Ward will begin at 12 p.m. on March 16 and will go until 2 p.m. Many Irish immigrants lived in the “Old Neighborhood” among the grain elevators of the Buffalo River and some of their relatives still live here today. The parade will begin at the Valley Community Center and disband on Louisiana Street though all are invited for corned beef and salted potatoes back at the community center. Local pubs and live Irish music are also guaranteed around town.

Others

Lackawanna: The “Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade” will start at OLV and go to Lackawanna City Hall. It will be held at 12:45 p.m. on March 15. A Mass before the parade at Our Lady of Victory Basilica will begin at 12:10 p.m.

Niagara Falls: The 40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration will begin at 4:45 p.m. on March 15 for a short parade on the corner of Rainbow Boulevard and Old Falls Street. Irish food, drinks and live entertainment will then follow until 11 p.m. at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.

St. Patrick’s Day Events

500 Pearl: the Forbes Theater at 500 Pearl Street will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day silent disco. The event is from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. on March 16 and will feature electronic dance music, hip hop/r&b, and top 40 & throwback hits to dance to. This is a 21+ event and tickets are currently being sold for $23.18.

Banshee Irish Pub: From 10:30 a.m. to close, March 15, the Banshee Irish Pub in the Theatre District will be hosting its St. Patrick’s Eve Eve Party. Irish breakfast and dinner will be served and live music will begin at noon. Various local bands will also be performing on March 16 and 17.

Buffalo Irish Center: The cultural home of the Western New York Irish community is putting on events for three days to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, featuring plenty of music, dancing, food and drinks. The center on Abbott Road will open at 3 p.m. Friday with no cover fee and at noon Saturday and Sunday with a $10 entry fee for those 17 and older.

Buffalo Iron Works: Celtic rock band The Town Pants will be hosting a party at Buffalo Iron Works on March 16. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. The band boasts five albums and international fans from Ottawa to Oslo. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Ebenezer Ale House: A St. Patrick’s Day Music Fest will be taking place at the Ebenezer Ale House in West Seneca on March 16. Their heated tent will house popular local bands, food, and drinks from 1 p.m. till 10:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $17 general pre-sale to $96 VIP tickets for a private tent and beer server.

Lucky’s Bar Crawl: The Official Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl will begin at Days Park Tavern in Allentown on March 16. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. The crawl will go from Buffalo Kitchen Club to Thirsty Buffalo to TwentySix before the afterparty at 10 p.m. Tickets are $29.69 and include 2-3 free drinks and waived cover charges at all venues.

Mister Goodbar: Mister Goodbar on Elmwood Avenue is hosting Irish punk bands Gates of Steel and Gimme Gimme on Friday, March 15. Sympathy Hounds will also be playing with members of the 90’s Buffalo band, Monkey Wrench. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.
