Route 274 resurfacing project to begin in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that next week it will begin resurfacing Route 274 in Perry County.

According to PennDOT, weather permitting, the resurfacing project will begin on Tuesday, May 28 on Route 274 (Big Spring Road).

During construction, single-lane closures will be under flagging during the daytime hours.

This $2.488,488 project includes resurfacing, guiderail and minor drainage work and other miscellaneous construction. The contractor for the project, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., will begin tree trimming this week prior to beginning the resurfacing portion of the project.

Work on this project is expected to be completed by October 24, 2025.
