Rose Creek man charged in Monday crash that injured four

Apr. 16—ROCHESTER — Court documents allege a Rose Creek man was using dusting agents while driving when he caused a crash that injured five people Monday morning, April 15.

Jordan Heimer, 30, has been charged with felony criminal vehicular operation causing substantial bodily harm and gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Deputies from the Olmsted County Sheriff's responded to a report of a head-on crash at the 2200 block of 40th Street SW shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2023. They found a Chevrolet Silverado pickup and minivan had collided. Two adults and two children who were in the van were injured and taken to Mayo Clinic's St. Marys Hospital. Three people injured had broken bones including one who had a broken collarbone, according to reports.

According to the criminal complaint:

Heimer appeared confused and lethargic when authorities arrived on scene. The scene indicated the Silverado crossed the centerline of 40th Street.

Deputies responding to the crash found a can of compressed keyboard duster near the pedals on the driver's side front floor of the Silverado Heimer was driving. The can appeared to be about half full. Three empty cans of duster with red tubes attached to them were found in the back behind the driver's seat.

In a statement at the scene, Heimer said he carries canned duster for his job to deal with technological problems.

He made his first appearance in Olmsted County District Court on the charges Tuesday, April 16.
