1 injured in rollover crash on Parker Road, Hampden Avenue in Aurora

DENVER (KDVR) — One person has been taken to the hospital after a rollover crash in Aurora Wednesday morning.

At around 2:15 a.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash near South Parker Road and East Hampden Avenue.

Officers said the female driver was the only one inside the Chrysler PT Cruiser when it crashed. She was ejected from the car and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Northbound Parker Road was closed at Hampden Avenue. Officers said northbound traffic was being diverted onto eastbound Hampden Avenue.

Westbound Hampden Avenue was also closed at Parker Road. Officers were diverting westbound traffic to southbound Parker Road.

Lanes were reopened nearly hours later at around 7:30 a.m.

Officers will continue to investigate what led up to this crash, but speed is being considered as a likely factor.
