Robert Pattinson is out here dragging his Harry Potter premiere outfit

Listen: The aughts are best known being a decade of questionable fashion. And no one was safe from problematic outfits. Even Robert Pattinson, now hailed for his effortless, high-fashion looks, is haunted by bizarre early-2000s clothing choices. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Pattinson recalls one outfit in particular that lingers in the back of his mind: his 2005 red carpet look from the Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire premiere.

To be fair, it’s hard for Pattinson—the latest Batman—to look bad. And velvet suit jackets were clearly a thing. His Harry Potter costar Rupert Grint also donned velvet to that premiere, pairing his velvet suit jacket with wide-legged ripped jeans and black Converse sneakers. Oh 2005…you problem child, you.

These days, Pattinson still takes risks with his fashion. He currently works with Dior’s Kim Jones, who has put him in eye-catching outfits and interesting materials.

And his current fashion icon? A$AP Rocky.

Maybe Kim Jones will take inspiration from Pattinson’s Goblet Of Fire days and put him in a velvet and leather ensemble next. That would be an incredible full-circle moment, don’t you think?
