Road work, detour planned for Route 30 in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – If you’ll be driving in the Lancaster area next weekend, expect delays.

Portions of the Route 30/222 interchange will be closed as part of an improvement project beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, May 10.

The closures will impact Route 30 and the Route 222 bridges over Route 30, and will last until 5 a.m. Monday, May 13, weather permitting.

If the weather impacts construction, the closures will be moved back to May 17-20.

Lancaster City Police said detours will be in place using Duke Street, Chestnut Street, and Lititz Pike, among others, taking Route 30 traffic around the closure via downtown.

They said delays are likely and are asking drivers to give themselves extra time and use caution.
