Ridgecrest student dies after crashing with vehicle

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A deadly motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Ridgecrest student.

The crash happened Friday, May 17 on South Sunland and East Bowman Road.

Attorney General’s Office undecided on prosecuting Scrivner case

Police say the student was riding a motorcycle northbound on S. Sunland Street and ran a stop sign. The motorcyclist collided with the side of a vehicle traveling westbound on E. Bowman Road, according to Ridgecrest police.

The unidentified student was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

The Sierra Sands Unified School District said a crisis team will be available to provide emotional support to those impacted by the death.
