Revisiting a pregnant homeless woman’s incredible journey thirteen years later
NEW YORK (PIX11) — Thirteen years ago, Jessica Middleton was sleeping on a park bench and expecting a baby.
PIX11 helped connect Middleton with a non-profit group called Good Counsel. Now, Middleton has two children and works for the City.
On Monday, PIX11 caught up with Luz Amaro, a community champion and proud grandmother of seven. She wanted her kitchen at the Jefferson Houses back so she can cook with her granddaughter before Mother’s Day.
By Friday, all repairs were complete.
