Restaurants with a perfect health inspection score in January 2024

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Public Health inspected 706 Travis County locations (restaurants, grocery stores, school cafeterias, etc.) in January, according to the agency’s public data portal.

This number is down from last year’s 732 locations. Likewise, the number of locations with perfect scores is down by a much larger percentage, with only 36 locations in 2024 compared to 62 in 2023.

Here are the local restaurants that got a perfect health inspection score in December 2023

In January, these restaurants earned a perfect health inspection score:

  • Baguette et Chocolat, located at 12101 FM 2244 Road, Bee Cave

  • Big Nonna’s, located at 12601 Tech Ridge Blvd, Austin

  • Pizza Day, located at 10225 Research Boulevard, Austin

These chain restaurants also earned perfect scores:

  • Wingstop, located at 9616 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin

  • Firehouse Subs, located at 11101 Burnet Road, Austin

  • Tiff’s Treats, located at 5145 North FM 620 Road, Austin

  • See’s Candy Shop, located at 10710 Research Boulevard, Austin

How Austin Public Health completes thousands of health inspections each year

In 2023, only 11.4% of locations received perfect scores; in 2022, only 10.1%.

Health inspections happen at the necessary locations twice a year, so not every location is inspected each month.
