New restaurant and new crafts store planned for Bradenton shopping center development

Plans for what would be the third Bradenton-area Panda Express Chinese food restaurant and the second Hobby Lobby arts and crafts store are in the works.

Both are planned for the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour shopping center, anchored by Costco on the northeast corner of Interstate 75 and State Road 64.

TH Harbour LLLP, of Piscataway, New Jersey, filed paperwork with Manatee County Building Services this week for a Panda Express at 7105 State Road 64 E., and for a Hobby Lobby at 805 Lighthouse Drive, Bradenton.

Marketplace at Heritage Harbour is being developed by Edgewood Properties of Piscataway, New Jersey.

Panda Express opened its first Manatee County restaurant in February 2023 at 14525 State Road 70 E. in Lakewood Ranch’s Braden River shopping center.

In 2023, the company also filed paperwork to open a second restaurant at 13028 State Road 64 E. in the White Eagle shopping center at Lakewood Ranch.

New Panda Express planned in Bradenton

Founders Andrew and Peggy Cherng opened the first Panda Express restaurant in Glendale, California, in 1983.

The company, known for its signature crispy orange chicken dish, has grown to about 2,300 restaurants nationwide, according to its website.

Panda Restaurant Group operates all of its restaurants except for select locations in airports, universities, military bases, hospitals, casinos, amusement parks and stadiums. The company does not offer franchises at this time.

Hobby Lobby crafts store coming soon

Hobby Lobby opened its first Bradenton store in 2013 at 4490 Cortez Road W. in the Pinebrook Shopping Center.

The faith-based and privately owned company is headquartered in Oklahoma City. Hobby Lobby has more than 1,000 stores in 48 states and over 46,000 employees, according to the company website.

“Hobby Lobby is primarily an arts-and-crafts store but also includes hobbies, picture framing, jewelry making, fabrics, floral and wedding supplies, cards and party ware, baskets, wearable art, home decor and holiday merchandise,” according to the company.

New development at Heritage Harbour

Marketplace at Heritage Harbour has seen a hive of activity with several new businesses planned. Among those the Bradenton Herald has recently confirmed:

Target planned for a 150,000-square-foot space. The value of the store is listed as $20.6 million, according to the permit application. A construction timeline and an opening date for the new Target location have not been announced.

Although no rendering of the new Target store planned in Bradenton near the intersection of Interstate 75 and State Road 64 has been released, the company’s web page contains images of the design of their new stores.
