Rescuers hunt for survivors under rubble after Majorca restaurant collapse kills four

Four people have died and at least 27 have been injured after a building collapsed at a beach resort in Majorca on Thursday night (23 May).

Video footage shows firefighters and rescue teams at the scene of the Medusa Beach Club, on the seafront at Palma de Mallorca, surveying the debris where people were feared trapped.

According to IB3, the Balearic Islands’ public television, a terrace where people were dancing fell onto the floor below around 8.30pm yesterday.

Rescue efforts to reach the victims reportedly continued throughout the night, and police urged people to stay back and keep noise levels low to help rescue workers hear any sounds from survivors.
