Reports: Three more Lady Bucs enter the transfer portal

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – After some reported departures from the squad earlier this week, three more ETSU women’s basketball players appear to be in the NCAA transfer portal.

According to The Next Hoops, ETSU guards Journee McDaniel and Sarah Thompson have entered their names, as has forward Samiah Puckett.

McDaniel started 15 games in her two seasons with the Bucs. In 2023-24, she averaged 6.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in Blue and Gold.

Thompson, the Gate City alum, made ETSU her home for the past three season. She made 23 starts as a freshman in 2021-22, but his since started just twice in the last two campaigns.

She chipped in 21 points, 19 rebounds and 7 steals this season, averaging 7.5 minutes per game.

Puckett could depart after one season in Johnson City. The Georgia native scored 43 totals points in a reserve role this past winter.
