Midfielder Toni Kroos appears ready set to continue his glittering career at Real Madrid for another season, according to reports on Wednesday.

Kroos, who came out of international retirement in strong fashion to help Germany win Euro 2024 tune-up games against France and the Netherlands over the past days, has been at Real since 2014 and won four Champions Leagues and many other titles with them.

The 2014 World Cup winner remains an important factor in Carlo Ancelotti's team at age 34, and sports papers Marca and AS, as well as transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, said that he is set to renew until 2025 after talks have taken place.

Romano said on X, formerly Twitter that putting pen to paper was "a formality" and "imminent."

AS said it seems that "the signing could take place next week."

Marca said that Real will make decisions on players with contracts running out in summer in April/May, and that "there is still no definite outcome."

But it however added: "All the indications are that the German will continue for another season, but as was the case last season, the time has not yet come to announce a renewal deal."

Kroos' contract renewal for the current season was not announced until June he said it could be similar this term, quoted by AS as saying on the weekend it would come over the next two months.

"There are no problems at all. I also made a late decision last year," he said last week.
