GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – A man was killed when a tractor flipped on top of him Tuesday night, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD) reports.

A GCSD police report states deputies were called to the 1800 block of Charles Johnson Road around 8:15 p.m. A 911 caller told authorities that a 1960s International tractor had rolled off a trailer onto a man.

The man, later identified as Robert Clark, of Afton, was trapped under the tractor and unresponsive when deputies arrived.

The caller told the GCSD that Clark had been doing some work for him around the Charles Johnson Road property over the last three days. During that time, Clark had been parking a box truck and trailer in the same spot.

According to the caller, Clark had texted him asking to speak about the job. The caller said he was walking down the driveway to meet Clark when “the tractor rolled over off of the trailer and came to rest on top of victim Robert Clark,” according to the report.

Clark’s body was sent for an autopsy.

The sheriff’s department noted that the truck and trailer were left on the scene until the family was able to make arrangements to have them moved. Clark’s personal belongings were given to his family members.
