Report of a gunman at Adventist Health possible prank call: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A scary scene played out in the emergency room at Adventist Health Hospital Wednesday night.

Bakersfield police received a call that a man armed with a gun was seen in a restroom in the E.R. Officers reported to the scene and placed the hospital on lockdown, but were unable to find a gunman.

California Highway Patrol issue 230 citations during traffic enforcement operation

According to BPD, its possible this was a prank call or what’s also known as a “swatting call.”

The investigation is ongoing.
