Recap of San Angelo Relays: A look at some of the top winners from Concho Valley HS athletes

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Relays wrapped up yesterday evening, and athletes from all around the Concho Valley took home the gold.

On Friday, in the Boys Long Jump, Division Two, Briggs Jones from Wall took home first place with a jump of 22-6.50. But he didn’t stop there.

Heading into the Saturday competition, Jones took home two first place finishes, in the 100 & 200 Meter Dash, Division Two, setting a new meet record in the 200 with a time of 22.31, that was set back in 2017 of 22.39. He also took home a second place finish in the Boys Triple Jump, Division Two, with a 44-01.75

In the Girls 400 Meter Dash, Division Four, from Wall, Lexi Slaughter took first with a time under a minute, 58.03 time. In the girls 800 Meter Run, Division Four, Wall took home the gold, Sealie Hughes clinched first place with a 2:24.39. Wall swept the competition in the girls and boys 4×400 Division Four, girls with a time of 4:04.77, and boys with a time of 3:22.95.

Chloe Becker from Miles took home first in the girls 100 Meter Dash, Division Four, with a time of 12.98. In the boys Pole Vault, Division Two, from Miles, Luke Cerda took first place.

In the boys High Jump, Division One, Gabriel Randall from San Angelo Central took home first with a 6-00 jump.

In the girls 100 Meter Hurdles, Division Four, Kelyn Gass from Ozona took home the first place finish.
