Rebel Wilson Wins Millions in Legal Case Against Publisher

They accused her of lying about her age.

Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson has a lot to celebrate - not only is she filming a new movie and awaiting the release of Pitch Perfect 3, she's also just been awarded millions after her defamation court case in Australia ended.

To get you up to speed, Rebel sued the publisher of Australian publication Woman's Day after they claimed she had lied about her age and accused her of lying about her childhood. According to Rebel's suit, as a result of the wrongful claims, she had been "been gravely injured in her feelings, credit and reputation" in the industry and it may have cost her roles.

After a legal battle with the publication's parent company, Bauer Media, a judge awarded Rebel $3.66 million in damages. After, Rebel spoke out about the case on Twitter.

Rebel then added that the case wasn't "about the money" and that she plans to donate the millions to Australian charities and to supporting the "Oz film industry." The publisher of the Australian magazine said they were considering the judgment.
