Rebecca Cannady joins South Georgia Nonprofit Network Board of Directors

May 26—THOMASVILLE- The South Georgia Nonprofit Network (SGNN) has appointed Rebecca Cannady, executive director of United Way Thomas County, to its Board of Directors. Cannady brings a wealth of experience in networking and nonprofit leadership to the organization.

SGNN is a regional organization that brings together nonprofits of all sizes and missions serving communities across southern Georgia. Understanding that nonprofits fail every day, SGNN provides vital resources so they can thrive and transform their communities forever, the network said in a press release. The organization's conferences strengthen nonprofit organizations by providing professional development training, management tools, and networking opportunities that enhance their ability to serve diverse constituencies.

"I am honored to serve with SGNN and the board of directors to lift up the nonprofit community in South Georgia," said Cannady. "I look forward to contributing my skills and experience to help SGNN fulfill its critical mission of supporting and empowering nonprofits in our region."

Cannady has served as executive director of United Way Thomas County since 2023. In this role, the organization has met its fundraising goals every year.

SGNN was founded as an outgrowth of leadership training sponsored by the Harley Langdale Jr. Foundation in Valdosta. The organization focuses on issues and services of value to its members, which include charitable, educational, scientific, and other nonprofit groups. By creating a strong, unified voice, SGNN raises the nonprofit sector's visibility and helps organizations bring the highest standard of service possible to the thousands of constituents they serve across South Georgia, the network's press release said.
