SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (NEXSTAR) – Illinois Senate President Don Harmon (D-Oak Park) and Illinois Speaker of the House Chris Welch (D-Westchester) have come to an agreed budget for the next fiscal year.

The full budget can be found here.

Among the items in the budget include $20 million to the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault. The organization asked for that increase to help keep the state’s rape crisis centers open after the federal government cut their budget.

The budget also includes more than $10 million for the new state agency designed by Governor J.B. Pritzker, the Department of Early Childhood.

The state is also giving $2 million to the Illinois Department of Education for its Summer EBT program.

The minimum amount of time for a budget (or any other bill in Illinois) to pass both chambers of the statehouse is three calendar days. The Illinois legislature previously announced an expected adjournment date of Friday, but both the Illinois Senate and the Illinois House of Representatives are expected to work through Memorial Day weekend.
