Rapides Sheriff's Office asks anyone with video, photos near Pineville fatal fire for help

Anyone in the vicinity of a fatal fire in the Kolin area is being asked to help investigators by turning over any videos or photos they might have.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office issued an appeal Thursday as detectives and Louisiana State Fire Marshals investigators continue to delve into the early March 30 fire in the 300 block of Williams Lake Road, a Pineville address not far off La. Highway 107 in the Kolin area.

A man's body was found in the carport area of the abandoned house. While that person's identity hasn't been determined yet, investigators did say the victim was not the home's owner.

After searching at the scene Tuesday, investigators determined the case to be a homicide.

Investigators are particularly interested in any media from the early stages of the fire. The Holiday Village Fire Department was dispatched to the fire about 12:30 a.m.

Any videos or photos can be uploaded at https://lsfm.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/350williamslakerd. Submissions can be uploaded anonymously, a news release said.
