Ramp closures for the Pennsylvania Turnpike for pavement testing; Here’s where

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– PennDOT is alerting drivers to planned ramp closures on the Pennsylvania Turnpike as crews will be performing overnight pavement testing.

The testing will cause closures on I-76 for the ramps at the Harrisburg West Interchange, Exit 242, and thereafter at the Gettysburg Pike Interchange, Exit 236, will result in overnight detours for drivers.

PennDOT says that the interchanges will be open, but access from the ramps will be closed at various times for the testing which will result in detours in both directions for work zones at the ramp areas.

The Gettysburg Pike Interchange testing will start at 11 p.m. on Sunday and is expected to wrap up by 4 a.m. on Monday, March 25.

The reason for the testing is to look at the existing pavement structure conditions and depths, according to PennDOT.
