Raleigh County Commission approves infrastructure funding to develop University Drive acreage

BEAVER, WV (WVNS) — Raleigh County Commission voted during the regular meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, to allocate more than $300,000 to develop infrastructure at a parcel of more than 40 acres at University Drive in Beaver.

Raleigh County Commission President David Tolliver said the lot is being developed for a business which was invited to the region through New River Gorge Regional Development Authority (NRGRDA), but officials did not announce which business will be on the acreage.

“Eventually, it will cost approximately $700,000 to put all utilities and infrastructure in for the company that’s coming in,” said Tolliver.

Ron Hedrick, Executive Director of Raleigh County Housing Authority, said on Tuesday, May 22, 2024 that he would like for county officials to extend the infrastructure to a neighborhood close to University Drive.
