Radiohead Fans: Thom Yorke Has New Music for You, If You Have 18 Days to Spare

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has created something about 400 times that.
Subterranea is 432 hours (or 18 earth days, but who’s counting?) built from 25,920 unique minutes of atmospheric, experimental sounds and field recordings produced solely for the purpose of being an ambient soundtrack to Stanley Donwood's Sydney, Australia-based exhibition, The Panic Office.
On display will be Donwood's original Radiohead album artwork (ranging from the classic OK Computer to 2007’s critically acclaimed In Rainbows), as he's been collaborating with Radiohead on album covers since their 1994 album The Bends.
According to the press release, “Subs will boom from the floor, mids will echo through the walls, and highs rain down from the ceiling.” Talk about a soundscape!
Unfortunately (or fortunately for our iPhone storage), there are no plans to release this epic track to the public, but here’s a little clip for your sonic pleasure. Or, if you want to pop on over to Australia, you’ve got until June 6 to see/hear a Radiohead-head’s dream.
