Race Against Racism coming up in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – The 26th edition of Lancaster’s Race Against Racism is this weekend.

The race starts at 9 a.m., with a kids fun run at 8:30 a.m.

Three thousand runners have signed up so far and the YWCA of Lancaster hopes the run will help bring the community together.

“We know that a race cannot end racism by just naming it,” Isabel Castillo, director of racial and gender equity at the YWCA, said. “Being in the community and taking the first step towards joining YWCA in the fight for racial justice, it’s very important. So we want to make sure we continue to do that.”

An after party is scheduled following the race at Musser Park, where there will be live music, food trucks, and community art.
