Quiet and warm this afternoon, storms return late tonight

What We’re Tracking

  • Storms return tonight

  • Wet weekend ahead

  • Seasonal temperatures

During the afternoon today, things will be quiet. Highs climb into the middle 80s. Sunny to partly cloudy weather is expected, but we’ll be watching a few disturbances that could bring a few more clouds in at times.

However, another system brings a chance for scattered showers and storms by Thursday night into part of Friday. These storms initialize along a cold front and form into a line of storms. The main threats with these storms are damaging wind and some hail. A tornado can not be ruled out. Our northern counties have the best chance of seeing these storms as there is some uncertainty on how far south the storms develop.

Another round of storms could develop late Saturday into Sunday. High temperatures should start to warm back into the 80s for the weekend. Memorial Day itself is looking warm, but it’s hard to rule out some scattered showers and storms in the current pattern.
