Prince Harry Helped Guide Meghan Markle in a Royal Curtsy and the Moment Will Melt Your Heart
Meghan Markle is still learning the ropes when it comes to royal propriety—and she thankfully has the perfect tutor: her new husband, Prince Harry. The royal newlyweds were on hand to celebrate Queen Elizabeth at the Trooping the Colour festivities Saturday, during which they, along with the rest of the royal family, paid their respects to Her Royal Highness.
In a moment pointed out by eagle-eyed royals fans, Harry, 33, gives Markle, 36, a subtle hint as to the timing of her curtsy upon his grandmother’s official arrival. (Members of the royal family are expected to always bow or curtsy to the Queen if it is the first time they’re seeing her that day).
In a clip shared widely on social media, Markle can be seen mouthing the words “Do it?” with a smile, to which he responds, “Yes,” before she curtsies and he bows his head in respect toward the Queen.
That wasn’t the only moment where Harry provided guidance during the spectacle. At one point, the Duchess remarked that she was “nervous” about the day, and Harry helped support her through the entire process.
Earlier in the afternoon, Markle and Harry arrived at the event in a traditional horse-drawn carriage, with the former Suits actress in an untraditional rose-colored, off-shoulder Caroline Herrera dress.

“I thought Harry looked more tense than Meghan in the carriage,” an onlooker told People. “On the balcony, he was more relaxed. It was the same on the wedding day. It took her a while to relax into what was going on.”
Markle and Harry will next attend their nephew, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s youngest Prince Louis’ christening, which will likely take place in July. The pair are also planning on a trip to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand in the fall, with the upcoming Invictus Games set to take place in Sydney from October 20 to 27.
