Prince George Reportedly Stopped a Bridesmaid’s Meltdown at the Royal Wedding

Next time you freak out over something, know that there’s only one solution: Prince George’s presence.

It turns out that despite the sassy moments we’ve seen the 4-year-old put forth for the cameras, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s son is as sweet as they come. At the royal wedding, one bridesmaid couldn’t help but erupt into tears on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day. Luckily, it was George who served as a first-responder.

According to royal correspondents Emily Andrews and Omid Scobie, 2-year-old bridesmaid Zalie Warren (Prince Harry’s goddaughter and the child of his good friends, Zoe and Jake Warren) was not having it right before the newly named Duke and Duchess of Sussex exchanged vows. Maybe Queen Elizabeth’s jarring neon green skirt suit scared her?

In an interview with the On Heir podcast, Andrews and Scobie explained that Warren “had a bit of a meltdown.” “She started crying when they were waiting for Meghan,” Andrews said. “It was only a couple of minutes. So Nanny Maria Borrallo kind of looked after her, and George apparently was trying to comfort her as well, which is very sweet.”

Borrallo is Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s nanny, and apparently her warm touch has rubbed off on George, who helped bring Warren back to a soothing place. Little Warren was photographed in tears at St. George’s Chapel, but apparently whatever Prince George did or said worked. She later made her entrance, along with that of the rest of the bridal party, a winning success.

Naturally, George wasn’t the only member of the Windsor family to keep others in check. Princess Charlotte reportedly helped make sure no one began the procession until they were instructed to do so. “There was one girl who wanted to go and she said, ‘No you can’t go yet. We have to wait until we are asked.’ She was really organized,” a guest told People.

Eventually, everything seemed to have come together.
