Prince George and Queen Elizabeth Make a Cameo in New Winnie-the-Pooh Book

From Harper's BAZAAR

Winnie-the-Pooh just welcomed two major royal characters for its newest saga: Prince George and Queen Elizabeth II. Both the picture book classic and the Queen turn 90 this year-so a crossover seems a fitting way to celebrate.

Winnie-the-Pooh and the Royal Wedding, released yesterday in honor of the anniversary, revolves around Christopher Robin and his famous animal pals-including Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore-as they leave the Hundred Acre Wood for the Buckingham Palace for the Queen's birthday.

On the adventure, they run into some of London's famous landmarks and the Queen herself, with Prince George following closely behind. The royal tot had a sweet exchange with Piglet, who gifts him with his famous red balloon. Below is the two-year-old prince, perfectly illustrated in his signature blue cardigan. (Move over, Christopher Robin-we may have found a new lead here.)

Meanwhile, the Queen is illustrated in bright red (she is a fan of color), attentively listening to Pooh bear as he reads from a scroll.

And the outfit was quite on point:

Winnie-the-Pooh and the Royal Birthday, written by Jane Riordan and illustrated by Mark Burgess, is now available online for free.
