Previously convicted Russian Storm-Z soldier shoots dead two civilians in occupied Ukrainian Luhansk Oblast
A previously convicted Russian soldier of the Storm-Z unit shot and killed two civilians in temporarily occupied Lysychansk in Ukraine’s Luhansk Oblast, the Russian Astra Telegram channel reported on April 17, citing sources.
The bodies of the victims, identified as 51-year-old Andriy Tonchenko and 34-year-old Viktor Barvinok, were found with gunshot wounds in Tonchenko’s house.
A 57-year-old Russian Storm-Z unit # 41624 soldier, Vasily Sazhin, who had a history of criminal convictions, including robbery, accidents with victims, and theft, was later arrested on suspicion of murder. He claimed that he had been drinking alcohol with the victims and got into an argument before shooting them with a Kalashnikov rifle.

On April 12, the Ukrainian National Resistance Center (NRC) reported that Moscow had begun recruiting women serving sentences in Russian penitentiaries to bolster its military.
